Crowns in 1–3 days: a tour of our in-house lab, one floor from your chair
Scan, design, mill, hand-finish. How a ceramic crown gets made while you sightsee.

Crowns at Guardians Dental are usually ready in 1–3 days because they are designed and made in our own lab, one floor from the treatment rooms. Your tooth is scanned digitally, the crown is designed on screen, milled from ceramic or zirconia, and finished by hand by a dental technician before fitting.
Why most crowns take two weeks
In many clinics, an impression is posted to an outside lab and the crown comes back a week or two later. For a traveller, that wait is the problem. Keeping the lab in the building removes the post, and lets the technician see your face, your shade and your bite in person.
From scan to smile
- Scan. An intraoral scanner replaces the gooey impression tray.
- Design. The crown is shaped on screen to fit your bite and neighbours.
- Mill or print. The design is milled from a block of ceramic or zirconia.
- Hand finish. A technician adds surface texture and characterises the colour.
- Fit. The prosthodontist checks fit, bite and shade in daylight, then bonds it.

What you do meanwhile
Go and see Seoul. A temporary crown protects the tooth. Our half-day Myeongdong walk fits nicely between the scan and the fitting.
Questions people ask
How long does a dental crown take in Seoul?
At Guardians Dental, usually 1–3 days, because crowns are made in our in-house lab.
Is a same-week crown as good as a lab crown?
It is a lab crown: designed digitally and finished by hand by a technician, just in the same building.
Which crown material is best?
It depends on the tooth and your bite. Zirconia is very strong for back teeth; all-ceramic is often chosen for front teeth.
