Short answer

From Guardians Dental, you can walk to Myeongdong Cathedral in a few minutes, climb to the Namsan cable car for views from N Seoul Tower, browse Namdaemun Market, and finish with Myeongdong’s evening street food. The loop fits comfortably into half a day either side of a check-up or scaling.

Before or after your appointment?

If you are having whitening, do the walk before your appointment and keep the street food for later, choosing from our white-list. After a check-up or scaling, anything goes.

1. Myeongdong Cathedral

Just north of our street, the red-brick Gothic cathedral is one of Seoul’s best-known landmarks and a quiet contrast to the shopping streets. Visitors are welcome in the grounds; keep your voice low if a service is on.

2. The main shopping streets

Myeongdong’s pedestrian streets are lined with skincare and cosmetics shops, many offering samples. Large department stores are a short walk away near Euljiro 1-ga and Hoehyeon if you prefer a quieter, indoor browse.

3. Namsan cable car and N Seoul Tower

Walk uphill from the southern side of Myeongdong to the Namsan cable car station; the climb takes around 10–15 minutes. The cable car carries you up Namsan to N Seoul Tower and its city-wide views. Go late afternoon if you can: the city lights come on as you look out.

Comfort tip: the walk to the cable car is steep. After a long treatment or sedation, take a taxi to the station instead.

4. Namdaemun Market

West of Myeongdong, Namdaemun is one of Seoul’s oldest traditional markets, packed with clothing, kitchenware, ginseng and food alleys. It is the place for kalguksu noodles and hotteok at local prices.

5. Back for evening street food

As the afternoon turns to evening, food stalls fill Myeongdong’s main street: egg bread, skewers, grilled cheese and fruit on sticks. It is a fun final stop, and you are a two-minute walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 9 to head home.
